How to Stop a Samsung Washer From Shaking Violently

Steps
Step 01
Stop the cycle
Pause the machine and let the drum come to a complete stop before opening the door or moving the cabinet.
Step 02
Redistribute the load
Spread heavy items evenly around the drum. Wash a single bath mat or comforter alone with two towels to keep the drum balanced.
Step 03
Remove shipping bolts
On a newly delivered washer, unbolt the shipping bolts at the rear of the cabinet and cap the holes. Leaving them in causes severe vibration.
Step 04
Level the cabinet
Set a level on top of the washer. Turn each leveling foot until the machine sits flat and no corner rocks, then lock the foot nuts against the cabinet.
Step 05
Test on a spin cycle
Run a spin-only cycle with a small load. The cabinet should stay put and the noise should drop to a steady hum.
Questions
Can a shaking washer damage itself?
Yes. Sustained walking wears the suspension rods and can crack the outer tub, so correct it before running more loads.
