  1. Plate 01 · Room#room
Plate 01 — Four Genelec near-fields on the upright

Four Genelecs lined up on the piano lid. This is the cold open. I set the room before I set the take. If the monitors lie, everything downstream lies with them.

  2. Plate 02 · Signal#signal
    Plate 02 — Console, patchbay, far-field cabinet, SSL 2

Patchbay lit, console warm, the big cabinet in the corner. I walk this path with my hands before I walk it with the artist. Nothing on the record you cannot trace back to a jack.

  3. Plate 03 · Ceremony#ceremony
Plate 03 — Crystal singing bowls · white dress · DJ rig · sticky-note wall

White dress, veil, seven crystal bowls in a half-moon. Behind her a DJ rig and a wall of sticky notes — the score of the night. I place mics like I am setting a table.

  4. Plate 04 · Motion#motion

Nine seconds in 4K, portrait, twenty-four frames a second. Muted here because the picture already carries it. The room breathing between two stills.

  5. Plate 05 · Artist#artist
Plate 05 — Portrait · soft focus · gold earring

She turns her head half a beat before the shutter finishes. The focus misses on purpose. This is what a voice looks like when it stops performing and starts arriving.

  6. Plate 06 · Lineage#lineage
Plate 06 — Young woman holding a Billboard cover · Raye of Hope

A Billboard cover from before she was born, held up in front of a building she picked. Lineage is not a lecture. It is a magazine somebody kept, and somebody younger who wanted to hold it.

  7. Plate 07 · Announcement#announcement
    Plate 07 — Aaniyah in Session · The Essence Experience · Gasa Gasa · 30 Aug · 5pm

The poster. Suite Vanilla work walking out the door and onto Freret Street. Ten dollars, five in the evening, jazz-R&B-soul. The archive is not only what we keep — it is also what we announce.

  8. Plate 08 · Community#community
    Plate 08 — Byron · community/parish hall · tables behind

Fluorescent light, folding tables, folks eating behind me. This is where the work is really kept. The records live on drives. The reason to make them lives in rooms like this.

End of sheet · 08 / 08 · EXIF stripped on intake — capture dates, camera, lens, and GPS not recoverable from the uploaded copies. Frame dimensions and format above are what survived.
