Steps
Step 01
Power down and open the access panel
Unplug the washer. Pop the small lower-front access panel with a flathead screwdriver to expose the drain filter and its small drain tube.
Step 02
Drain the tub through the tube
Set a shallow pan under the small tube, pull its plug, and let the drum water empty. Re-plug the tube when the flow stops.
Step 03
Clean the pump filter
Twist the round filter counterclockwise and pull it out. Remove coins, lint, and hair, then rinse the filter and wipe the housing with a cloth.
Step 04
Check the drain hose
Straighten any kink and confirm the hose enters the standpipe no more than about 6 inches and sits between 24 and 96 inches above the floor.
Step 05
Reassemble and test
Reinstall the filter hand-tight, close the panel, plug the washer in, and run a spin-and-drain cycle to confirm OE does not return.
