Tools
- · Towels
- · Shallow tray
- · Flashlight
- · Phillips screwdriver
Parts
- · Door seal (only if torn)
- · Inlet hose washer
Steps
Step 01
Cut the power
Unplug the dishwasher, or switch off its breaker. Close the hot water supply valve under the sink by turning it clockwise until it stops.
Step 02
Tilt and drain the base pan
Slide the dishwasher out. Tilt it back about 45 degrees onto a helper or wall and let the trapped water run out of the base pan into a tray.
Step 03
Dry the float switch
With the pan empty, wipe the base dry and leave the door open for two hours so the polystyrene float can settle back down to its resting position.
Step 04
Find the leak source
Inspect the inlet hose washer, the sump gasket, the door seal, and the spray arm bearing. Any drip that reaches the base pan will trip E15 again.
Step 05
Restore power and test
Plug the machine in, open the water valve, and run a short rinse cycle. If E15 clears and no water returns to the pan, the repair is complete.
Questions
Does an E15 error reset itself?
Yes. Once the base pan is dry and the float drops, the error clears on the next power cycle. It returns immediately if the leak was not fixed.
Can I run the dishwasher with an E15 error?
No. The machine locks out the fill valve to prevent a flood. Dry the pan first.
