Metanated · Studio of Record · Product MVP
We audit IP, metanate assets, and keep artists living in the black.
Audit → Metanate → Maintain. ISRC, ISWC, splits, PRO / MLC / SoundExchange, royalty recovery, and clean distribution to streaming, audiobook, podcast and app stores.
Most sessions leave the studio with no clean metadata, no ISRC, and no split sheets filed to a PRO or the MLC. The work sits in the black box — or gets scraped, cloned and monetized by someone else.
Independent artists, producers, songwriters, audiobook authors, podcasters and legacy families are asset-rich and cash-poor — hard drives that will never pay. Every creator who records has this problem, from a sixteen-year-old with a laptop to a veteran of twenty years of sessions.
Metanated is the studio of record inside The Box Studios that makes protection the product — audit existing catalogs for leakage, metanate every new asset from mic to registration, recover lost royalties, and turn catalogs into monthly cash flow and legacy that banks understand.
- 1Artists bring their hard drive — or start a new session — and we audit, repair and metanate the catalog.
- 2Clean metadata, generate ISRC and ISWC, capture splits and contracts on site.
- 3File to PRO, MLC and SoundExchange; push clean distribution to streaming, audiobooks, podcasts, education and app stores.
Deliverable is not just a wav — it's a banked catalog with a dashboard.
Started as traditional recording and mix
Artists kept asking where is my money, not where is my mix — so we flipped the order and audit first.
Early feedback sounded like estate work
Working with Aaniyah Anderson, the feedback was: I need cash flow this month and a system I can maintain myself. So we productized into three tiers — Audit, Metanate, Maintain — with a monthly keep-it-live fee and tech that metanates once and distributes everywhere.
Music Industry — Music Tech and Studio Services, serving the creator economy and app users who own IP.
Byron Jupiter — native New Orleans DJ, Full Sail graduate in recording arts, composer, producer and mix engineer; owner of Jupiter Records, now The Box Studios.
Ten-plus years recording, mixing and designing small studios, plus running a Reverb shop that moves studio gear and funds archival intake.
Built The Box to be a studio of record — not just a room — so audit, metanation, registration to PRO and MLC, and royalty recovery happen where the music is made.
Edge: one operator doing all three jobs artists normally hire three people for — track and mix the record, metanate the asset with correct metadata, ISRC, ISWC, splits and filings, and recover the money.

Vetted New Orleans musicians + admin
Overflow support across sessions, filings and intake.
Creators who make original audio but own no system
Independent vocalists, producers, songwriters, podcasters, audiobook authors and educators using recording, podcast and education apps — New Orleans first, then nationally.
Valuable IP, no bankable catalog
Over 80M app-based creators release daily, but most sessions leave with no clean metadata, no ISRC, no splits and no PRO or MLC filing — so the work sits in the black box and gets scraped by AI.
Free 45-minute IP audit
The audit shows leakage in dollars and converts into Audit, Metanate, Maintain — delivered through the apps and studios artists already use.
Shop, venues, proof
Reverb gear-shop audience; venue and education partners including Tipitina's and the Jazz Museum; then expansion through app-store distribution and creator communities.
Audit
One-time IP audit maps every asset, finds leakage, shows unclaimed royalties in dollars. Entry point converts at 70 percent.
Metanate
Project fee based on catalog size: clean metadata, generate ISRC and ISWC, capture splits and contracts on site, file to PRO / MLC / SoundExchange, bank the catalog. Average $2,500 for 50 tracks.
Maintain
Monthly subscription keeps new releases metanated: registration, royalty tracking and distribution to streaming, audiobook, podcast and app stores. Plus 15% of recovered back royalties in year one.
Gear recycling
The Reverb shop resells donated and traded studio gear; margin funds low-cost archival intake for artists who cannot pay upfront and creates a gear-buyer funnel into Metanated.
Zero to Banked
Aaniyah Anderson — first design partner. Catalog taken from zero to banked, with a daily artist feedback loop shaping the product.
- The Box Studios, 7367 Chef Menteur Hwy — studio of record, not just a room

The numbers
120K tracks a day, 75% independent, $500M in black box royalties, 80M asset-rich and cash-poor creators.
No metadata, no ISRC, no splits filed
The gap sits at the moment of creation — which is exactly where a studio of record can close it.
Studio of record — Audit → Metanate → Maintain
Protection becomes the product, filed and banked where the music is made.
Proof on the board
Aaniyah Anderson zero to banked, The Box Studios, the Reverb funnel, sixteen properties, and 70% audit conversion.
Goal: secure one mentor to raise a hand and commit. Next step is to scale the Audit → Metanate → Maintain tech, automate PRO / MLC / SoundExchange filing, and launch the banked-catalog dashboard.
Metanated — Studio of Record. The Box Studios, New Orleans.
We audit IP, metanate assets, and keep artists living in the black. If your music is not metanated with proof of ownership, it gets scraped, cloned and monetized by someone else.
