The Solid Color Initiative pairs highly creative muralists with licensed architects and construction professionals to transform urban architecture using striking, solid-colored minimalist designs.

The mission: bridge the gap between the arts and industrial trades through cross-training, resulting in massive visual landmarks, economic empowerment, and a safer, more skilled workforce.

At the heart of the initiative is an equitable skill exchange. Both groups are paid to teach and learn from one another.

For the Muralists — Industrial Upskilling

Safety & Certification: OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 and job-site safety protocols.

Heavy Equipment: Boom lifts, scissor lifts, and scaffolding.

Architectural Literacy: Blueprints, zoning, and structural limitations.

Material Science: Permanent Paint Technology

Standard exterior acrylics are insufficient for macro-minimalism. The initiative uses architectural-grade, chemically bonding permanent paints for decades of vibrancy, weather resistance, and structural protection.

Masonry, Brick, Concrete

Potassium Silicate (Mineral) Paint. Silicification chemically bonds liquid quartz with masonry — the color is petrified into the wall itself. Never peels or blisters; unaffected by UV.

Metal & Steel

Fluoropolymer (FEVE) Resins. Bridge- and skyscraper-grade coatings. Extreme color and gloss retention; resists salt spray and chemical pollutants.

Anti-Graffiti Topcoat

An industrial, invisible clear coat. Tags wipe away with a specialized solvent without damaging the permanent color beneath.
